Heat Things Up With a Hot Rod
To kick off “Warm Up The Bedroom,” I’d like to introduce you to a relatively new product on offer from Fleshlight. The Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer is basically a rod that plugs into the wall or a USB port. You can then place your masturbation sleeves over the rod to warm the toys from the inside. Warming a penetrable toy is not a new concept. When using any of my toys, I have always used the “warm water method” to heat them up before play. I simply cannot stand the feeling of a cold surface against my sensitive flesh. Up until now, my only option to keep my ‘pepper‘ warm and happy involved soaking the toy in warm water. Thanks to the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer, there is now another option. The remainder of this review will now be in the format of an experimental lab, because… science!
Introduction
The “warm water method” of soaking a toy in a sink or container filled with hot water works to warm up penetrable toys, but it can be a royal pain. You waste a bunch of hot water, and then your favorite toy drips everywhere as you use it. When I first read about the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer, I was thrilled with the prospect of doing away with the water ritual. Even if the warmer took longer to get the toy up to temp, I could set it up, and then let the sleeve warmer maintain the warmth until I was ready. In this lab I intend to collect and compare the temperature measurements for both the “warm water” and “sleeve warmer” methods for warming penetrable sleeves.

Hypothesis
My prediction is that the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer will heat up toys at a slower rate than the “warm water method”. I believe, however, that toys warmed with the “warm water method” will tend to cool more quickly due to evaporation.
Method
I will compare the internal temperatures of three different masturbation sleeves using a beer-brewing digital thermometer during each of the two warming methods. Temperature readings will be taken at the 5 and 10 minute mark during warming. After the toys have been warmed, the temperatures will then be taken at 5 and 10 minutes after. For the “warm water method,” toys will be submerged in hot water from our tap (measured at 126° Fahrenheit). The three test toys are as follows.

Results
Analysis
The “warm water method’ out-performed the “sleeve warmer method” in every measurement; however, for the Fleshlight sleeve, the results from the two methods didn’t differ as much as they did for the non-Fleshlight sleeves. The large discrepancy in temperatures between the Fleshlight and non-Fleshlight toys can probably be attributed to the toys’ material. Fleshlight sleeves are made from a material called “SuperSkin,” while the other two (Petunia and Janine) are silicone. Though this result was not anticipated, it seems to make sense that the silicone toys would be more difficult to heat up.

Conclusion
I was surprised to learn that the toys warmed with the “sleeve warmer method” actually cooled more quickly. It turns out that when a toy is submerged in warm water, the entire toy is warmed instead of just the inside. This makes it easier for the masturbator to maintain its temperature. Though the “warm water method’ out-performed the “sleeve warmer method,” I prefer using the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer for non-silicone penetrable toys. It’s simply more handy, with less cleanup. That being said, I will continue to warm my silicone toys with the “warm water method.”

Considering that the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer will only set you back $30, it’s really quite handy. It’s also surprisingly sturdy. It seems tough enough to easily survive a fall from any (reasonable) height. The Fleshlight sleeve warmer does exactly as advertised when warming Fleshlight products. It removes the “beat the deadline” feeling I have when using the “warm water method” (the longer I wait before using the toy, the colder it gets). With the Fleshlight Sleeve Warmer it’s really nice to slide a toy onto the warmer before a little while before a play session. You set it and forget it, and then it’s ready when you are. The convenience of avoiding the cumbersome “warm water method” is worth the slightly colder interior. Besides, warmer doesn’t necessarily mean better. Fleshlight designed the warmer to warm toys to ~105° as it most closely matches the “real thing”. Lilly never allowed me stick my thermometer inside of her, so I’ll have to take their word on it.
