These bloggers are awesome, so I know you are of course already reading their blogs. Just to make sure, now would be a good time to also double check that you are following them on Twitter. Good? Good! Now Lilly and I will bare our raw souls for your entertainment by answering some questions!
1. Why did you start blogging?
Max: Lilly and I have a lot of sex toys. Anytime we are attending a swinger or fetish event, we are often excitedly telling our friends about our newest toys and what we love and hate about them. Our friends have often told us we got them interested in a new toy or fetish, and this feels great. We love the idea of helping people discover new things about themselves, so starting a blog felt natural.
Lilly: It seemed like we were always trying to start a new project, but we have so many interests, soon the excitement would wear off and we’d move on to the next one. With Carnal Chameleon the subject is sex, and we never tire of sex. We can talk about sex all day and not lose interest in it. So Carnal Chameleon has stuck as one of our longest, most successful projects together so far, and is still going strong!
2. If your site had a goal, what would it be? How do you feel you’re doing with that goal, right now? How do you feel you’ve done with that goal over all?
Max: The “Trojan Horse” goal of Carnal Chameleon is to introduce the general public to my experiences as an Autistic person exploring the sex-positive world. Once we draw people in with that story, we let loose and our other goals attack! We want people to find new toys, try new things, and consider fantasies they may have never thought of before, all while having a laugh. How do you think we are doing with that, Lilly?
Lilly: I think we are right on target with that, though I think we need to work harder to draw in more folks from the Autistic community. There is a lot of information here that might resonate with them, but they may have a hard time finding us. I’d like to think we are making people laugh, while showing them something new. We are a young blog, but already we have heard of people buying toys based on our recommendations, and that feels great!
3. How has blogging influenced your life?
Max: We have less “free time” now, but if I am being honest I would have been spending that time masturbating anyway. It’s not asking too much that I towel off my hands and type about it now and then. Occasionally we feel some pressure to use a new review toy at times when we might have otherwise had a “vanilla” night, but I think that in the end this always works out to our advantage.
Lilly: Blogging has rekindled my love of photography. Max will give me a photo assignment to complete for the week and I love coming up with creative ways to present whatever subject I am working with. I haven’t had a chance to write my own articles yet, however I have a few planned for the future so I am looking forward to sharing my side of the story.
4. What is your favorite part of blogging?
Max: My favorite part of blogging is completing an article and finally hitting the “Publish” button (then subsequently panicking after I notice about 20 mistakes I failed to catch before it went live). I have a routine of posting new articles on various social networks and I love drawing people in to our content.
Lilly: Best thing in the world is opening new review products when they arrive in the mail! Its like Christmas, but with toys I can put inside of me!
5. Are you kinky? How did you come to this conclusion?
Max: Yes, I have always been fascinated by novelty, both sexually and otherwise. Vanilla is great, but I can’t help myself from adding a cherry, and some sprinkles. …And maybe some gummi bears. Hey! Why not some marshmallows too?
Lilly: Well, I believe I must have always been kinky, but I didn’t realize it until Max helped show me the perverted path. Now I find myself looking forward to new experiences that may become future kinks.
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Max: I want to still be a child. An older, somewhat wiser child who has learned a way to bring joy to myself and others without having to worry about financial limitations.
Lilly: A princess.
7. What is the most important thing about you that you want everyone to know?
Max: Since I’m Autistic, Lilly is my interpreter for the real world. I may seem well put together online but she does a lot to help me function day-to-day. Also, despite providing most of the written content for Carnal Chameleon, I actually don’t enjoy writing!
Lilly: Max is my interpreter for the on-line world. I have difficulty expressing myself outside of face to face interactions. I also love cookies. Big cookies with yummy chocolate chips! You should totally send me some cookies! My address is… <Communication Terminated by Max>.
